THE FSMTA PRESIDENTS
COMMUNITY SERVICE AWARD
This award is given to a 9th grade student in recognition of his/her leadership, achievements, and service to the community in the field of music during the 7th, 8th, and 9th grades. Special emphasis is placed on service to the community, which is the essence of the award.
A winner is selected from each county, and from these, a state winner is selected. The state winner is presented a plaque and a check for $100.00 at the FSMTA State Convention. The award is based on the student's participation in school musical activities, church or synagogue activities, community service activities, and his/her study with an FSMTA Member teacher.
Applications may be secured from the Chairman. Completed applications must be in the hands of the local chairman by January 31, 2010.

All members of FSMTA are encouraged to submit applications for their students who are presently a member of the ninth grade class for the 2010 Local Presidents FSMTA Community Service Award and for their students who are presently a member of the twelfth grade class for the 2010 Leroy Greenspan Memorial FSMTA Community Service Award.
The applications are due to the president of the local MTA or High School Liaison Chairman by March 1, 2010. Applications of each county winner – Local Presidents and Leroy Greenspan - with the $25 fee per winner must be in the hands of the FSMTA State Chairman by April 1, 2010. The application fee is paid by the local MTA.

The Local Presidents FSMTA Community Service Award winner receives a plaque and a check for $200. The Leroy Greenspan Memorial FSMTA Community Service Award winner receives a plaque and a check for $500.
